adidas Go Super-Lightweight With the F50 Hyperfast EVO

For the latest incarnation of the F50, adidas have gone back to the roots of what the boot has always been about: lightweight speed. Ladies and gents, say hello to the F50 Hyperfast EVO, which arrives as part of the F50 ‘Too Light’ pack.

There’s only a few boots in the game for which, when a new generation is released, you really take notice. With its history and impact in the speed game, the adidas F50 is definitely in that category. It's being touted as adidas’ lightest ever boot to feature at the FIFA World Cup when this summer’s tournament gets underway in a couple of months, and you know a boot is lightweight when you remove the paper from inside when you first take it out of the box, and that paper weighs similar to the boot itself. 130g we’re talking. It’s ridiculously light, trust me.

So, although the boot weighs only 130g, there is no compromise on performance, with best-in-class technical features combining to provide the ultimate speed boot, as you'd expect. So let's take a look under the hood, shall we?

Bringing back some serious Crazylight and 99g vibes, every element of the F50 Hyperfast EVO has been engineered with lightness at its core. The ultra-light F50 Shell EVO mesh upper reduces overall weight while delivering essential structural support, working in harmony with a refined hyper-light SPEEDSYSTEM soleplate that features a stiff internal core to stabilise the foot during explosive movements. Bladed studs enhance traction for sharper, faster changes of direction, while an adaptive TPU skin across the upper and midsole, known as the F50 Cage+, adds rigidity without bulk, securing the foot through rapid twists and turns. A lightweight floating tongue wraps seamlessly around the foot to lock down the heel and minimise slippage, ensuring precise control at speed.

It's all packaged in a striking yellow and orange colourway that's not going to be missed on pitch, finished with a bold F50 logo along the outer side. The upper is so lightweight that under certain light it has an almost translucent quality. Signature diagonal three-stripes sweep across the silhouette from heel to forefoot, brought together by a clean, shimmering yellow soleplate.
